The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) hosted a Reverse Distributor Meeting on May 12, 2016. The meeting was held at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre Hotel, Indianapolis, Indiana. The purpose of this meeting was to assist reverse distributors in understanding the new regulations with further explanation on the associated recordkeeping, reporting, and security requirements.

Conference Report

James A. Arnold, Acting Section Chief, Liaison and Policy Section, DEA HQS served as the moderator. Mr. Arnold opened the conference by welcoming everyone to Indianapolis and provided some administrative announcements.

Ruth A. Carter, Diversion Program Manager, Washington Field Division, DEA, served as the moderator. Ms. Carter provided an overview presentation on "DEA Disposal Regulations Overview".

Kristen Fitzgerald, Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery, EPA Recycling and Generator Branch, presented "EPA Rules and Regulations".

Tyler Patterson, Senior Attorney, Hazardous Materials Safety Law Division, Office of Chief Counsel, PHSMA, Dept. of Transportation (DOT);
Michael Nicks, Transportation Specialist, General Approvals and Permits, PHSMA, Dept. of Transportation (DOT);
Eileen Edmonson, Transportation Regulation Specialist, Regulatory Review Reinvention, PHSMA, Dept. of Transportation (DOT) presented "DOT Special Permit for Collectors Rules and Regulations".

The meeting concluded with a short Q&A session and closing remarks by Mr. Arnold.
