Implementation Update

Final Rule: Revision of Import and Export Requirements for Controlled Substances, Listed Chemicals, and Tableting and Encapsulating Machines, Including Changes To Implement the International Trade Data System (ITDS); Revision of Reporting Requirements for Domestic Transactions in Listed Chemicals and Tableting and Encapsulating Machines; and Technical Amendments (PDF) (January 30, 2017)

In January 2017, The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) published a rule that established new standards and procedures for the import and export of controlled substances, listed chemicals, and tableting and encapsulating machines; as well as procedures for the reporting of the theft and loss of listed chemicals and domestic transactions involving tableting and encapsulating machines and listed chemicals. Currently, the ability to submit the forms to DEA utilizing the online systems is not yet fully functional:

DEA Form 107 - Report of Theft or Loss of Listed Chemicals

DEA Form 453 - Notification of Domestic Transactions Involving Listed Chemicals
